I am always looking for talented and highly motivated students, post-docs, and visiting scholars to join our group. We are a very collegial group motivated by interesting and difficult problems in environmental engineering and public health. If you are interested in a career in academia, my group has a good track record with placement of 6 out of 12 Ph.D. graduates and 1 former post-doc in faculty positions at universities around the United States. Ph.D. and M.S. graduates are also employed by state and federal government agencies (e.g., U.S. EPA, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency), water utilities, and consulting firms (e.g., Jacobs Engineering Group, HR Green, Black and Veatch).

Graduate Students

The main application period is September to December to begin fall of the following year. Students are notified of acceptance into the program in the spring. Students can be funded for their studies in a variety of ways including fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships. Top American students are encouraged to apply for fellowships from federal agencies such as the National Science Foundation and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
